SWARM Biotactics GmbH – a globally pioneering startup in the field of biorobotics – is urgently looking for a hands-on Communication Engineer with strong RF expertise and broad experience in embedded hardware and software development to immediately join our team in Kassel.

Founded by an experienced founding team and solidly financed, SWARM Biotactics is developing innovative biorobotic systems – starting with insect-based platforms – for a wide range of real-world applications.

 

Your tasks:

• Design and develop advanced hardware and software architectures for communication and control of biorobotic platforms
• Develop and integrate embedded communication systems, focusing on RF technologies in the cm/mm-wave range
• Design and prototype antennas and antenna arrays tailored for ultra-lightweight, low-power systems
• Optimize system performance with respect to range, energy efficiency, size, and weight
• Work with short-range wireless networks and mesh communication systems

Your profile:

• Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, ideally with a focus on RF or communication systems
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with diverse wireless technologies and communication protocols
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with low-power embedded systems, including both hardware and firmware design
• Solid experience in PCB design, RF system testing, and embedded software development
• Familiarity with wireless technologies such as WLAN, BLE, Bluetooth Mesh, and custom short-range protocols
• Strong interest in interdisciplinary work and a proactive mindset
• English is the official language of the company, and you are proficient in using it without any issues.
