About the Role
SEMRON is a young tech startup developing powerful hardware that enables AI applications to run directly on smartphones and other mobile devices—quickly, efficiently, and without cloud dependency.
Our team consists of around 20 people from all over the world. We work with focus but without rigid corporate structures. For us, productivity and a great working atmosphere go hand in hand—we value personal responsibility, short decision-making processes, and open communication.
To support our finance team, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented person who wants to gain practical experience in the accounting and financial management of a growing technology company. You will work with real business transactions, learn how our financial processes operate, and help us develop them further.
What you will do:
Finance & Accounting- You will support our day-to-day accounting activities, particularly the recording and allocation of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- You will assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable, customer invoicing, and the preparation of payment runs.
- You will contribute to account reconciliations, open-item management, and the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- You will help compile documents for payroll accounting, our tax advisors, and other external partners.
- You will follow up on missing receipts and help ensure that our accounting records remain complete, current, and transparent.
- You will prepare basic financial overviews, analyses, and process documentation.
Grant Management & International Finance
- You will support the documentation and accounting of ongoing grant projects and help prepare funding requests and fund utilization reports.
- You will assist with allocating eligible expenses and ensuring a clear separation between different grant projects.
- You will contribute to the accounting of our US subsidiary as well as intercompany invoicing and the reconciliation of internal transactions.
- You will support the documentation and analysis of patent costs and other financial obligations.
- You will help us improve and digitalize our internal finance and approval processes.
- You will support our project to bring more accounting activities in-house and implement a suitable ERP and accounting system.
What you should bring in:
- You are studying business administration, economics, finance, accounting, controlling, or a comparable subject.
- You are interested in financial accounting and want to understand how the financial processes of an international startup work in practice.
- You work carefully, reliably, and in a well-organized manner and can maintain an overview of numerous documents and individual transactions.
- You have good Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, and can quickly familiarize yourself with new digital applications.
- You are willing to use AI tools pragmatically to make research, analysis, and administrative processes more efficient.
- You have very good German and good English skills.
Why us?
- Direct insight into the accounting and financial management of a growing tech startup
- Personal supervision and professional guidance from our team
- The opportunity to work on real business transactions and meaningful projects
- A broad range of tasks covering accounting, grant management, and international finance
- A dynamic startup culture with short decision-making processes and room for your ideas
- An international team and a centrally located, modern workplace in Dresden
- Flexible working hours that can be coordinated with your studies
- The opportunity to develop your practical knowledge of finance, accounting, and process digitalization
