    eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future. 

    We are looking for a Senior Optics and Laser Engineer (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.


    Responsibilities:
     

     As an Optics & Laser engineer (f/m/d), you will be part of a team with a mission to develop, set up and operate our trapped-ion quantum computers and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with our international team of physicists and engineers from different disciplines. Depending on your qualification, you will work on one or more of the following tasks:

    • Define and refine the optical systems used on our quantum computers

    • Develop and establish monitoring of relevant indicators of optical systems throughout the operation of our quantum computers

    • Develop and test optical components and systems (including optical modulators)

    • Prepare test reports and communicate your results

    • Integrate procedures across several quantum computers to accelerate development in a process-driven way

    • Analyse the performance of optical and laser systems and align them with the needs of future generations of quantum computers

    Requirements

    Required Skills:

    • Master’s degree in Optics Engineering, Physics, or a related field

    • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in industry or research, with an awareness of industry standards

    • Process-driven mindset

    • Experience with optical systems for quantum technology

    • Familiarity with image and data processing

    • Understanding of signal processing principles

    • Strong communication and writing skills in English

    We value (Bonus):

    • Experience in real-time electronics and signal processing

    • Hands-on experience with laser systems for ion or atom traps

    • Experience with laser spectroscopy and laser cooling techniques

    • Experience in structuring and regular reporting of system performance
